Homeopathy is great to use during pregnancy, because homeopathic remedies are safe and side effect free. Recently the FDA issued a strong warning to pregnant women not to use Diflucan™ (a commonly prescribed anti fungal) during pregnancy, after mothers who used it in the first trimester had babies who suffered birth defects.
The birth defects included deformities and abnormalities of the head and face and oral cleft, irregular bone growth, joint deformities, muscle weakness and congenital heart defects.
Other pharmaceutical medications that are know to increase the risk of birth defects are the acne drug isotretinoin (marketed in the U.S. as Roaccutane™ and fromerly Accutane™, others), thalidomide (Thalomid™) and some anti-seizure medications. Not surprisingly pharmaceutical drugs are never tested on pregnant women and so logically none can claim to be safe for use while you are pregnant. Homeopathy has been used to safely treat pregnant women for the past 200 years.
