Homeopathy can help with skin complaints
Homeopathy has a great reputation for helping skin complaints. This week the New York Times and the London Independent featured a group of fashionistas who say they use it with great results.
They are in synch with Cindy Crawford, who told Oprah that her homeopathy kit was one of the ten things she couldn’t live without.
The New York Times article was confusing. It made no distinction between homeopathic Arnica and the herbal tincture of Arnica and warned of the dangers of side effects. To set the record straight, homeopathically prepared Arnica(any potency of 6x, 6c or higher) is side-effect free. The same is true for all homeopathic remedies.Homeopathy works best when you use a minimal amount, take one dose and only repeat if the same symptoms return.
On the plus side, the NYT highlighted once again that many highly intelligent and creative people love Homeopathy. Among those noted as singing its praises this time were: designers, Phillip Lim and Diane von Furstenburg, the fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman, Linda Fargo, stylist, Isabel Dupré, creative director of Urban Decay cosmetics, Wende Zomnir, and supermodel, Gisele Bundchen
Mr Lim said, “I heard of models and other designers taking (homeopathic) Arnica before big events or photo shoots, so I thought I’d try it out … It’s supposed to slim you down because it flushes you out. And it clears up your skin.”
He tried it when he was feeling puffy ahead of a big fashion awards ceremony in June and was pleased with the results. “I did feel like my skin glowed afterwards,” he said.
